Year 1s have worked hard this half term

The new term has certainly got into full swing now with the year 1 children settling into their new classes. It is always lovely to see pupils grow and mature year after year as they travel on their journey through Heronshaw. The children have enjoyed getting to know their new teachers and catching up on some much needed fun with their friends.

The year 1 children really getting stuck into their book Grandad’s island, they even turned their classrooms into islands by making some colourful parrots. The children explored the book in detail developing their vocabulary and writing skills. This half term the children have been developing their mathematic skills by learning their rolling numbers so listen out for our catchy song!
