Year 1 Trip to Kenilworth Castle

On Tuesday 23rd May, year one travelled to Kenilworth Castle in Warwickshire to celebrate the end of their project – how to defend your castle.

We were transported back in time and loved exploring the castle, looking for evidence of arrow loops, a curtain wall, towers and floating doors and fireplaces!  We climbed the Leicester tower which was built for a visit from Queen Elizabeth 1 in 1575.  We also explored the beautiful gardens and the original castle keep. The weather was incredibly kind to us and a wonderful day was had by all.

A huge thanks to all of our parent/helpers who supported us!
