Iceberg Ahead!!
Year 2 began their Iceberg ahead project this week by investigating how properties of materials can change if you try to squash, bend, twist, stretch, heat and cool. Our scientists enjoyed trying to rescue toy animals from blocks of ice by firstly investigating if food colouring would make the ice melt, and then developed their investigation further by exploring what salt does to ice! They were fascinated with their findings! They concluded that heating the water was the quickest solution to melting the icebergs.
