This year’s Comic Relief was a laugh – out – loud spectacular at Heronshaw this year. Children immersed themselves in this year’s theme ‘Funny is Power’ and came to school dressed as their favourite superhero, or inspiration, donning their red noses and creating some truly spectacular hairstyles too!

We had a wonderful variety of outfits and a sea of red in our very special ‘Comedy Club’ assembly held by Mr. Ainscow in the afternoon. In this assembly a candidate from each class took to the microphone to share with the whole school a joke guaranteed to bring a giggle!

It was a tough competition but after many laughs our 3 special judges on the panel (Mr. Ainscow, Mrs. Outtram and Mrs. Smith) were able to choose a top comedian from each year group and present a prize joke book!

From cake decorating, to playing ‘whose face is this’ ( a mash up of Heronshaw staff jumbled together to make a new face), the children giggled all day whilst reflecting on how fortunate we are to be able to enjoy school and learning. Our special comic relief assembly allowed children to see where funds raised from Comic Relief goes. We are very proud at Heronshaw that this year we have made an outstanding……
