June 2010
Dear Parents,
As the end of term approaches I would like to keep you up to date with some changes for next year.
After many years outstanding service at Heronshaw as Deputy Head and so much more, Mrs Davies will be taking early retirement at the end of this term. It is with much affection and appreciation for all that she has done that we say goodbye and good luck Mrs Davies! You will be greatly missed and we know how much you will miss all of the children, parents and staff who have been a big part of your life for so long. We know you have earned your retirement! Do come back and see us if you have time!
We also bid farewell to Mrs Ridley who is at the other end of her career but is taking a break for a while and we would like to thank her for the super job she has done at Heronshaw and wish her all the very best for the future.
One new member of staff will be joining us in September, Mrs Saunders–Short, and we look forward to welcoming her as our new Deputy Head.
Year 2 Leavers’ Assembly
Our now traditional assembly for Year 2 parents will be on Wednesday 21st July at 1.45pm. Come along and see what the children have been up to this year and celebrate the end of term with us in style!
I hope to see as many Year 2 parents as possible at our Leavers’ Assembly.
Sports Day
Thanks to all of you who came to support the children on Sports Day. The turn out was brilliant, you were a fantastic crowd and the children really enjoyed the day.
Things to do during the holidays
Please look out for the activity sessions on offer at various venues throughout the holidays. Also remember that Education City will be available throughout the holiday. Just use your usual homework log in details.
Finally, may I just take this opportunity to thank you all for everything that you do as parents to help us at school. Your partnership is an essential part of life for us and we are very grateful for all the extra things that you do to support your children, the staff and the school as a whole. Thank you.
With Very Best Wishes,
Tim Kirtley
