Maths Day 20th January 2009
Following last year’s very successful Science Day, we thought this year we would hold a Maths Day to raise the profile of maths and show the children what fun maths can be by immersing everyone in maths activities all day!
We started off with a Magimaths assembly where all children, wearing their specially made Heronshaw maths hats, had fun trying to work things out in their heads, estimate time and quantities and generally show how smart they are!
The day was then split into different sections both inside and outside, with a Number Trail, Maths Challenge and different Active Maths puzzles around the school.
The children really had a lot of fun and learned lots of new things about maths. Have a look at the photos and see what the children got up to!
