Free text messaging service for Emergency School Closures
Dear Parents,
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and welcome back!
I note that Heronsgate had to close today because the heating system broke down and that many parents were informed of this closure because they had signed up for the free text messaging service operated by MK Council for Emergency School Closures.
This service is free to all parents in Milton Keynes schools. If you would like to sign up to receive text messages which will immediately inform you if Heronshaw has to close for any reason, please go to www.milton-keynes.gov.uk/schoolclosures You will be able to register and find out more information about the system.
There is the possibility of heavy snow later this week. We will do our best to remain open whatever the weather but there are times when travelling becomes very difficult and dangerous and some members of staff cannot always reach the school on these occasions. The text message alert system will inform you if we have had to close due to bad weather and is therefore a good way of receiving the latest information. |
