The Extended School Day
We operate our own Breakfast Club on the school premises which starts at 8.00am for those parents who may have an early start. You can drop your child off at the side entrance to the hall from 8.00 am and the children will be cared for until school starts officially. Each session costs £2.00 and you can book sessions in advance at the school office for the whole week or just on a day to day basis as you need it. Please do check to make sure there is space at the breakfast club at least the day before you need it. If we are full but have a little notice, we can arrange to accommodate more children.
The club provides breakfast (toast or cereal) and the children have a choice of different games and activities to do each day. In fine weather, these activities may be outside in the playground but the children can choose indoor activities if they prefer. At 8.40am the children are then taken to their classes as normal.
After school, we do operate our own extra – curricular clubs at different times (please see ‘School Clubs’ section) but these do not operate all through the year. You will receive details in advance of what these clubs, whether a charge operates and how to book a place on them.
We do hold the contact details for several after school clubs that the children can attend every day if you need child care after school. Please ask at the office if you would like details of the after school clubs that operate in this area. These clubs are not part of the school but are Ofsted registered after school clubs and you may choose any that you think will be best for you and your child. If they attend any of these clubs, the children will be collected by the clubs’ own staff and taken off site to their own premises where you will need to collect your child by arrangement with the club.
Some of these clubs collect the children using mini – buses or ‘People Carrier’ type cars, others collect on foot as they are more local. Please make arrangements directly with the clubs themselves as they operate completely independently of the school. Children from Heronsgate are also able to access the same clubs. Please ask at the school office if you would like more details.
