Tigers

This term the Leopards and Tigers have been developing their understanding of shape, form, texture and the sensory qualities of materials. They have been learning about the work of sculptors and different kinds of sculpture.

Antony Gormley sculpted the Angel of the North and the famous bronze figures which can be found in various places around the country.

Angel of the North Another place – Crosby beach

His clay men inspired us to model figures of our own.

Herb Williams produces sculptures and pictures out of unusual objects and the children particularly enjoyed looking at his crayon sculptures.

We created pictures and patterns of our own using bull dog clips, elastic bands, dowling and the ‘holes' left in hole punchers to name but a few unusual objects.
