Heronshaw School is a co-educational Community School for pupils aged from 4+ to 8, after which they transfer to Heronsgate Middle School, with whom we have very good liaison.
Milton Keynes is a rapidly growing city approximately 40 minutes from London. The school is situated in a developing area and has quickly reached its capacity of 240 pupils. The children come from the Walnut Tree, Walton Park , Browns Wood and Caldecotte areas of Milton Keynes, which consist of a mixture of private housing and rented accommodation.

The school is an attractive open plan design on a small site. There are 8 home bases, shared areas, an ICT suite, a hall and administrative offices. We are well resourced and believe in using the best quality equipment and materials wherever possible.
The children are taught in year groups in eight mixed ability classes with a cross-curriculum approach to delivering the National Curriculum. There are eight full-time teachers and five classroom assistants.
The Governors’ support and commitment to the school is particularly encouraging. Governors and staff work together to produce the School Improvement Plan and in joint working parties on policies and procedures.
The school places great value on parental relations. We have an induction programme for our Rising 5’s, which involves a very successful home visiting programme. We benefit from a large number of voluntary helpers and a thriving parent association, the Willing Investors in the School of Heronshaw - W.I.S.H.
The school provides for the area of Walnut Tree south of Walton Road, Hindhead Knoll and Fyfield Barrow as well as Walton Park, Caldecotte and Browns Wood. Children are admitted to the school in accordance with the Milton Keynes Council procedure.
